DAWH - Annual Results: EPS 2.8 times

For the year ending December 2023, Dawood Hercules announced an annual EPS of Rs 21.5 that was significantly higher than its EPS of Rs 7.67 last year. This is on an unconsolidated profit and loss basis.

DAWH did not announce any cash dividends with the annual results. The company has already paid a total of Rs 18 per share as interim dividends.

"Due to the specific accounting treatment for IPPs, as mentioned above, the Net Assets of the thermal energy assets in the Consolidated Financial Statements of the Group are higher than their recoverable amounts. Accordingly, an of PKR 29,950 million (Owners' Share: PKR 5,314 million) accounting impact has been recognized in the consolidated financial statements for the ended year December 31, 2023. In the Standalone Financial Statements of the Company for the year ended December 31, 2023, no amount has been recognized as the recoverable amount of thermal energy assets is significantly higher than their carrying amount."

Dawood Hercules trades under the symbol  DAWH at the Pakistan Stock Exchange. Today, DAWH closed at Rs. 130.94, down around Rs 10.

Dawood Hercules holds almost 40% of ENGRO, 22.4% of EFERT, and 22.4% of EPCL.

Dawood Hercules (DAWH) is a closely held public listed company. Foreign companies hold 48% stake in DAWH, and associated companies, together with related companies/individuals, hold over 30% in the company.

PSX Strongly Rebounds

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) reacted positively to the conclusion of the IMF staff-level agreement and has now recovered a substantial part of the losses sustained on Monday. Today, out of the 1,139-point gain in the KSE-100 Index, around 800 points were contributed by UBL, OGDC, PPL, and Meezan Bank.
